Personal Tax Vacancy

A newly created opportunity has arisen within the personal tax team.

The role offers progression and training within a friendly working environment, fully supported by the other members of our tax team.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of personal and partnership self assessment tax returns
  • Preparation of property letting accounts
  • Preparation of basic self employed income and expenditure accounts
  • Calculating income tax and capital gains tax liabilities
  • Reviewing PAYE coding notices and tax calculations
  • Assisting with tax advice to clients
  • Dealing with queries from HM Revenue & Customs
  • Liaising with the accounts and payroll teams to help with tax-related matters

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience of working in tax in practice, with a good academic background and a willingness to develop their abilities. A good basic working knowledge of Excel and Word is also required. Excellent team-working skills and initiative are necessary, together with strong communication skills.

In return, the successful candidate will be offered a market salary, training and study support. They will also benefit from working with a diverse client base, including exposure to a wide range of income tax, capital gains tax, overseas matters and inheritance tax issues.

ACA/ACCA Part or Newly Qualified Accountant

A newly created opportunity has arisen for an ACA/ACCA part or newly qualified accountant within the audit and accounts team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of accounts for limited companies, LLPs, charities, partnerships and sole traders from a variety of accounting systems
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
  • Preparation of management accounts and forecasts
  • Audit and assurance engagements
  • Preparation of VAT returns

The ideal candidate will:

  • have a good academic background
  • be ACA/ACCA part or newly qualified
  • have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice
  • have a good working knowledge of Excel. Experience of Sage and Xero would also be beneficial
  • show initiative and be keen to expand their knowledge and skills
  • have strong communication and team-working skills
